These objects had also been picked up by Air Traffic Control Radar, confirming the sightings.

On the night of January 13 the same year at about midnight, NORAD (North American Air Defence Command) are reported to have alerted their Brazilian counterpart CINDACTA (the Integrated Centre on Air Defence and Air Traffic Control), to warn them they were tracking a number of UFOs over the western hemisphere that night.

The UFOs that crashed are thought to have already been trailing smoke when they were first seen which gave the impression that they could have been fired at by interceptor aircraft.

They reported that they had seen one or more UFOs come down near the city of Varginha in Minas Gerais state.

The Brazilian authorities contacted local Army units, who were placed on high alert.

This became a major news item at the time, press and TV told of how a UFO with eight alien beings on board had crashed in Varginha.

Civilian investigators also thoroughly researched the incidents that followed and they believe that a UFO did crash and over the next few weeks at least two and perhaps as many as eight alien creatures were captured, killed or turned over to the American authorities.

The Varginha incident is made up of a series of small but significant events.

Things went quiet for a few days until the night of January 20, farm workers Augusta and Enrico Rodrigues were wakened by the noise of the cattle and sheep.

Looking out of their window, they saw the animals obviously terrified of something and then saw silent and unlit UFO.

The UFO was described as being like a ‘submarine-shaped mini-bus’ which was shaking ‘like a curtain’ and trailing smoke as it hovered about 5 metres above the ground and then crashed to earth.

It is believed that alien survivors ran off into woods close by, one of whom was reportedly shot by a local farmer!

A military source told how debris was recovered which was ‘twisted and lightweight’. (This sounds similar to Graphene, which was reverse engineered from the material from which the Roswell UFO was made!)

According to Brazils’ UFO Magazine, an American civilian was present when the UFO was loaded aboard a flatbed truck in the early hours of the morning.

That evening, three young women were walking home after helping a friend prepare to move house the next day, when they spotted one of the alien creatures in a building site, crouched down by a wall.

The same night, more UFOs were seen in the area, possibly searching for any survivors.

They had large triangular heads with three short ‘horns’ on top, huge, red vertically oval eyes and no noses or ears and only a slit for a mouth.

They had long, thin arms and short, thin legs and wore no clothing without any sex organs to be seen!

Witnesses told of them having unusually large veins or tendons growing out of their necks and running down their chests, backs, shoulders and arms, giving them the upper body shape of a weight lifter.

On Monday 22nd of January, the Brazilian Army took one or more of the ‘alien creatures’ to ‘Hospital Humanitas’ in Campinas, Sao Paulo. Hospital and staff saw two Americans carrying ‘strange devices’ enter the building that morning, along with personnel from the University of Sao Paulo.

That evening ‘S-2’, Brazilian intelligence, was said to have removed one dead creature from the hospital.

Three trucks were said to have been used, one for the body and two ‘decoys’.

Soldiers who were involved in this operation said, the foul smelling body was taken to the University of Campinas, where it was to be examined by Dr Badan Palhares, a noted post mortem specialist.

Both the University and Dr Palhares deny involvement in any such events.

The next morning, passers-by sighted a ‘strange creature’ in woodland which was close to the centre of Varginha.

Three teenage boys were throwing stones at a ‘creature’, trying to get it to react.

The local fire brigade were called out to investigate.

In Brazil, its part of the Fire Brigade duties to catch any wild animals, which stray within the city boundaries, they carry nets, cages and protective equipment for that purpose.

The Fire Brigade responded to the call, but realised that they were not dealing with a ‘conventional’ wild animal.

They contacted their control by radio, who handed over responsibility to the military.

While they were waiting for the army to arrive, the firemen had captured the creature and when the army truck turned up, they handed the snared ‘creature’ over to them.

The army put the creature in a box, under a sheet in the back of the truck, and took it away.

That afternoon, a jogger passing the woods in the Santana district of Varginha saw seven armed soldiers go into the woods, apparently searching for something.

Shortly after, he heard three gun shots and so he turned back and returned to the scene in time to see four soldiers carrying two ‘body bags’. come out of the woods.

One bag contained a still form, while the other was ‘squirming’.

Zoo Deaths

April 1996: Unexplained deaths had occurred at Varginha zoo, on average at least one a week and often with no visible signs of cause of death,

And then a lady sitting on the veranda of the zoo restaurant reported seeing a ‘strange creature’ watching her from close by, which then ran off, jumping a low wall.

These inexplicable deaths stopped after this sighting.

Press and TV reported that during this period UFOs were being sighted nightly and the top national TV network, ‘Redo Globo’ broadcast two features on the happenings.

Threated By The Military

Qualified pilot Carlos de Sousa, came forward some time later, when the first fuss was over, to describe the events he witnessed that night.

He was driving his small pick-up truck a few miles from a road junction, which leads to Varginha, when he heard what sounded like a light aircraft engine, malfunction.

He pulled over, got out of his truck and immediately he saw an unfamiliar aircraft flying about 100 metres above him at a speed, he estimated to be eighty kilometres an hour.

The aircraft had a well-polished, shiny surface, which was reflecting the sunlight, it was cigar shaped and was about 12 metres long, and about four metres wide.

There were four round windows on each side of it and at the apparently damaged front, there was a large jagged hole three to four feet long, which stretched out into a crack most of the length of the right side of the aircraft, from which smoke was pouring out.

Had the aircraft been shot at

Senor da Souza got back into his truck and followed the UFO that appeared to be descending slowly and out of control, after about 20 kilometres the craft went into a sharp dive and disappeared behind some trees.

The area by now was thickly forested and although he was close to the site of the aircrafts crash, he had difficulty finding his way through.

Eventually he gained access to the crash site, which turned out to be a small field with a few trees.

Wreckage of various sizes was scattered around, looking much like very thin tin foil.

He picked up one of the pieces measuring about a metre it was remarkably lightweight and he was able to bend it into different shapes.

But, as with the Roswell wreckage, when released the material regained its original shape without any marks.

He searched further and spotted a helicopter and some army vehicles, including an ambulance, and several dozen soldiers who were searching the area.

Senor da Souza also commented on the smell, likening it to ammonia or ether but also with the smell of stagnant water too.

When the military spotted him, the metal he was carrying was confiscated, he was told to depart fornicating and to forget everything he’d seen!

Other soldiers came over and he left feeling threatened by the military’s attitude to his being there!

He drove off, but stopped at a restaurant nearby to calm himself down and was drinking his coffee when a man approached him and told him he was wanted outside the cafe.

Outside there were more men who proceeded to threaten him and told him that if he spoke of what he had just witnessed, his life would be in danger.

It was only a year later, when other witnesses had come forward, that he felt able to reveal what he had witnessed on that day.
